ARE THE Record Companies losing their grip? There are eight British records in the Top Ten. Of these eight, only three have been recorded by the record companies. The other five have been made by independent producers and sold, with every touch of echo, every "One more time" in place, direct to the big companies who stamp labels on them and issue them.
